God Of War Ragnarök is the ninth installment in the God of War series, developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The 2022 release will follow Kratos and his son, Atreus, as they traverse the nine realms in an attempt to prevent Ragnarök from occurring while battling enemies from all over, picking up from where they left off in 2018.
The game was supposed to be released in 2021, but the COVID-19 pandemic, combined with the health of voice actor Christopher Judge, caused a delay. It is the final installment in the series’ Norse saga and the sequel to God of War (2018).
What is the story of God Of War Ragnarok?
Set approximately three years after the events of God of War (2018), God Of War Ragnarök picks off as Fimbulwinter is drawing to an end after which the heavily prophesied Ragnarök begins. It forces Kratos and his teenage son Atreus to begin traveling across the nine realms in an attempt to prevent the prophesied disaster.
However, their journey will be far from an easy one as Thor: the Norse God of Thunder alongside his father Odin, King of the Norse Gods, and Freya, Baldur’s mother, are chasing them down, seeking revenge for Baldur’s death at the end of God of War (2018). At the same time, the father and son duo are attempting to uncover Atreus’ true identity as Loki and his part in Ragnarök.

God Of War Ragnarök Release Date
Despite all its delays, Santa Monica Studios and Sony Interactive Entertainment have confirmed that God Of War Ragnarök will release on November 9th, 2022.
What platforms will God Of War Ragnarök release on?
As of right now, God Of War Ragnarök will be a cross-platform release, launching on both the PS4 and the PS5, with no news yet as to whether it will be released on PC. God of War (2018) did eventually get a PC release a few years after the game was released and many fans are hoping the same does take place here.

God Of War Ragnarök Jotnar Edition Restock
Not surprisingly, God Of War Ragnarök’s Jotnar Edition flew off the shelves as soon as it was released for pre-order and is now currently unavailable to buy directly from the seller. However, there has been no official announcement regarding the same and thus fans should keep an eye out as PlayStation Direct currently lists the bundle as “Coming Soon”.
