The first live event of the second season of Guns of Boom esports was held yesterday and it was a huge success. The event called the Gods of Boom was held at the main stage in the Spodek Arena in Katowice.

This was the first time a mobile game was played competitively in the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM).

The finals were held between the teams- Noble and Lazarus in a best of seven games. Both teams have had an old rivalry in the Guns of Boom professional scene and had come to this tournament with the full intention of taking home the trophy.

The teams also had some roster changes and how this new roster worked for both teams was tested.

The first game was control points and was played in the Atrium map. The game was fairly even in the initial period but in the late game, Noble started to dominate. Their team communication and movement were much better. Noble won the game 1200-811 making the overall score 1-0.

The second game was a deathmatch and the game was completely one-sided. Noble absolutely dominated with their incredible sniper shots, teamwork and map control.

Communication, which is a very important aspect in winning games in this game, was done very effectively by Noble and Lazarus were definitely in their back foot the entire game. Noble won the game and made the series 2-0.

The third game was looking like the comeback Lazarus wanted as they took an early lead in the control points game mode and were maintaining it throughout the early to the late mid game.

But, Noble managed to make a comeback with their impressive communications and took down the players of Lazarus by separating the team. Noble ultimately won again 1200-929 and just needed one more game to take the series and take home the trophy.

Lazarus would have been really demotivated by the end of this game as they had this game snatched from right under their feet. They now had to make a comeback and win 4 consecutive games to win the series.

Over at the Noble camp, the players must have certainly been relaxed as the entire series was going their way and they were just one more game away in winning the first Gods of Boom Event.

The last game was a close one. Played in Europe map in the control points game mode, Noble had taken an early lead and were maintaining it throughout the game.

Lazarus were not far behind but it seemed like the pressure was getting to them as they were making unnecessary rushes. Again, the communication in the Noble side has to be complemented as they won this game as well and took the series 4-0.

Team Noble absolutely dominated this series and took home the trophy, bragging rights and of course $40K as their prize money.

Lazarus, on the other hand, got $10K and will be going back home and looking at the errors they made and how they can improve on them. Noble also qualified for the next Gods of Boom event to be held at the end of this season.
