Gunsmith Part 3 in Escape from Tarkov: How to complete and rewards

Completing the Gunsmith quests at the start of a wipe in Escape from Tarkov can be a bit tricky, as you might not have the required parts unlocked. However, rushing through Peacekeeper's tasks, at least till Scrap Metal, can help you complete Gunsmith Part 3 easily since it will unlock the MP5SD variant required for this quest. Alternatively, you can buy the parts from the flea market, but this will burn a hole in your pocket.

Parts you need for Gunsmith Part 3

For this quest from Mechanic, you need the MP5SD variant from Peacekeeper Loyalty Level 2. However, this becomes available only after you complete the quest – Scrap Metal. If you have not completed the mission, you can purchase a normal MP5 and change it to the SD variant by swapping out the upper receiver, handguard, and suppressor to the HK MP5SD versions.

Additionally, the MP5SD submachine gun can also be acquired from Mechanic through a barter. However, all of the barter items are required for the Hideout upgrade, and these are extremely costly in the early days of the wipe. So, you will be better off modifying a normal MP5 than doing the barter trade with Mechanic.

After getting the MP5SD, use the following to complete the build:

• HK MP5SD B&T tri-rail ring mount
• NbSTAR TBL (Tactical Blue Laser)
• HK MP5 9x19mm X-5 50-round drum mag

All of the aforementioned parts can be acquired once you level up Mechanic and Peacekeeper’s Loyalty Level to two. However, the X-5 50-round drum mag can only be obtained through a barter. At times the barter tends to be more expensive than purchasing the item straight from the flea market. Since this is an early wipe quest and players tend to save as much money as possible, you should compare the prices and choose the one less costly.
