Halo: Spartan Strike is 343 and Microsoft’s newest game in the Halo franchise that was slated to release on December 12th. The touch-based top-down shooter will be available for the Windows 8, Windows Phone and on Steam. But there’s been a delay in the games release, largely due to the current matchmaking issues that their latest release Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been facing.
In a latest announcement on Halo Waypoint, the dev team has stated the following: “While we’re excited about this all-new Halo experience, our commitment to resolving the current matchmaking issue in Halo: The Master Chief Collection remains the top priority.”
343 Industries is more focused on resolving the issues players have been facing in The Master Chief Collection and as a result, the release for Spartan Striker has now been shifted to early 2015.

Ever since its launch back in November, Halo: The Master Chief Collection has run into numerous problems, the biggest one being its matchmaking feature. There are been a number of patches since its release, but some players have still been experiencing issues with the game with a few angry players even resorting to death threats against the developers.
Latest patch fixes matchmaking speed times
However, the developers have been hard at work trying to resolve these issues with their latest patch even improving matchmaking speed times. Balancing updates will be expected to arrive sometime next week. Though there are still some issues yet to be resolved like the multiple playlists within matchmaking, they should be added in time.
So 343 Industries decision to delay Halo: Spartan Strike so they can first resolve the problems with the current game seems to be quite a reasonable decision.
