Halo Infinite's Operation Haloween kicked off on October 8, 2024. One of the key features of the new update is the Halo Survive the Undead playlist. This is the very first community-made playlist to go from the Combat Workshop to being actually playable in the game. The objective is simple - survive the attacks of the undead until all Spartans fall to the Infection or one last-standing survivor manages to win against the hordes.

This article will explain the Halo Survive the Undead playlist in detail, exploring its rules, perks, maps, and more.

The playlist also offers multiple maps for players to explore on their quest to defeat the undead.

Maps

The Halo Survive the Undead playlist was part of the Combat Workshop before being made an official playlist in the game. During its workshop phase, it only had one map for players to explore. Now, it offers three:

  • Installation of the Dead
  • Night of the Undead
  • Countdown of the Dead

Furthermore, you can also get Bonus Drops while fighting the undead on these maps to increase your chances of winning.

Bonus Drops

There are a total of four Bonus Drops available in the game. These are Boom, Spray & Pray, Mounted & Loaded, and Score Attack. They have a chance of appearing while you kill your enemies, and are announced by a voiceline. Here are all the drops explained:

Boom

  • Effect: Instantly kills all AI, granting each player 400 points. Benefits from Score Attack.
  • Strategy: Use when in dire need.

Spray & Pray

  • Effect: Removes shields from all enemies, making them one-shot kills for 30 seconds.
  • Strategy: Ideal against bosses.

Mounted & Loaded

  • Effect: Refills ammo for all players.
  • Strategy: Use when team ammo is critically low.

Score Attack

  • Effect: Doubles points from kills for 30 seconds; effects stack. Also, keep in mind that this drop affects the points granted from the Boom drop.
  • Strategy: Collect immediately for maximum benefit.

Apart from these, there are other in-game options available that can help enhance your overall combat abilities. Most of these involve Wall Buys from different locations all over the map.

The Player Buy Back is located in the spawn room in Halo Survive the Undead. It can revive fallen allies and grant the activating player an overshield. Next, the Ammunition Wall Buy is also available in the spawn.

There is also the concept of Point Sharing Wall Buy in the Halo Survive the Undead playlist. Located in the 2nd territory of any map, this area allows players to share their points in a way that everyone on the team receives an equal share. The Wall Buy costs 2,000 points to be used.

Weapon Upgrade Machines can also be found and used for 1,000 points. These are available in the spawn room. You may also see Wall Buys in Halo Infinite Operation Haloween where you can purchase items displayed on the wall.

Finally, you may also discover a Random Weapon Box in the 2nd or the 3rd territory. It costs 300 points to use and grants the player a random weapon.
