343 Industries have announced the new Halo:Spartan Strike game for Windows mobiles and PC. They have released an official announcement trailer which shows the game being set during Halo 2. 343 producer Fred LaPorte havs commented in the video below that, “ this new game is set during the events of Halo 2 and features a wealth of improvements over Spartan Assault and the game is a “spiritual successor” to the Spartan Assault game”. The game also includes achievements, leaderboards and weekly challenges.
The game opens up on a "new chapter" in the Halo, and the players take the role of a Spartan on a mission that begins on New Mombasa in 2552. There are a variety of Spartan skills, as well as new weapons and vehicles (the iconic Warthog is included). This game consists of new weapons like Suppressor, Scatter Shot, Binary Rifle, and Incineration Cannon. The Armour abilities include the Proximity Mine, Bubble Shield, Teleport, Shock Chain, and Airstrike. The players should lead a troop of UNSC soldiers through 30 "challenging" missions, to save the planet from being overrun by Covenant and Prometheans.
The game is scheduled to release in December for $5.99 on Windows 8/8.1, Windows Phone 8/8.1 and Steam, with a single purchase the game will be unlocked on all the Windows platforms.
