Personality

As Hazel has a sisterly personality type, it means that she’s protective of those she calls friends. This will easily apply to the player, should they become close friends with Hazel, and she’ll give you tips ranging from ways to relax to fighting among other topics. While they have a rough and tough outer attitude, sisterly types like Hazel will be the first to give you medicine when stung by wasps. Not only that, they can be seen out and about late into the night with them often the last ones to turn in. Out of all personality types, Sisterly villagers are one of the easiest to reach max friendship with.

Appearance

Hazel Appearance

Hazel looks like a normal squirrel when it comes to fur color as she has a tan/orange hue but it’s broken apart with red and pink stripes along her tail and hair. She has black eyes, pink blush and teal ears though her most striking feature is the black unibrow above her eyes.

How to get Hazel in New Horizons

Getting a villager you want in New Horizons is particularly tricky as there is only one surefire way to do so, the rest is up to luck. There are two primary methods of getting Hazel in your village; the first is using Nook Miles to fly to an island and see if she is there. Keep in mind if you do this you’ll have to have an open plot available. The second method is to wait and see if she’ll appear at your campsite. Either way both methods are based on luck, so it’s completely up to chance.

Role of Hazel in New Leaf

Being in every Animal Crossing game Hazel, naturally, appears in New Leaf as a potential villager. Much like in previous entries, you can talk and build your friendship with her although in this game you can make her a cup of coffee.

Amiibo

Hazel Amiibo

A guaranteed way to get Hazel on your island is to use her Amiibo card. Simply scan it with your Switch at the Town Hall. Keep in mind in order to do this you need to have both the Town Hall and Campsite constructed. Once you’ve invited her to your campsite, you simply need to do this three times and she’ll be part of your island!

Trivia

  1. Hazel is the only sisterly squirrel villager.
  2. Hazel is one of the few if not the only villager to have a unibrow.
  3. Hazel’s nickname for the player is uni-wow
