The difficulty level that has arrived with the Escalation of Freedom update is known as Super Helldive. This difficulty is not for newcomers and can give a tough time to even the most seasoned Helldivers out there. Super Helldive will have you fighting from the very moment you land on a planet. The fights will only continue to get more intense as you go after objectives and won't end until extraction.

Playing in Super Helldive will also frequently spawn the new enemies that have recently been added to Helldivers 2. The Impaler, Spore Charger, Terminid Alpha Commander, and Rocket Tank are all formidable and can take you out with ease, so it is best to tread carefully.

While it is surely difficult, Super Helldive is also fair. If you're using your best loadout, have good teammates, and have clear communication, the increased difficulty shouldn't give you much trouble. However, if you miss out on any of these things, Super Helldive in Helldivers 2 could end up being a nightmare for you. Let's take a look at the new missions you will come across in Escalation of Freedom.

Currently, players have been able to experience two new mission objectives after the Escalation of Freedom update. Here are the two faction-specific objectives:

  • Destroy the Bio-Processor (Automatons) - You will have to destroy a Bio-Processor found in the human processing plants on Automaton-infested planets. Going after these will set all Automatons in the area after you, so make sure you're well-prepared to kill some robots.
  • Extract a living Larva (Terminids) - As the name suggests, you will have to extract a living Terminid Larva sample to complete this mission. From the moment you grab the sample, all kinds of bugs will relentlessly come after you until the Larva has finally been extracted.

Apart from these mission objectives, you will also be getting the chance to liberate Mega Nests and Fortresses if you're playing on Super Helldive. These are like normal Nests and Fortresses but span across a bigger area and are tougher to take down.

These are the only new mission objectives that have been discovered so far. Since the Helldivers 2 Escalation of Freedom update is filled with surprises, we're hoping to see more as players spend more time with it.
