Tracking down all Daedalian Key locations can be daunting in Hogwarts Legacy, owing to the massive size of the richly detailed wizarding school in Avalanche Software’s popular Wizarding World game. These winged keys are “key” to unlocking a unique Robe for the Hose that the player avatar belongs to, a neat cosmetic reward for those willing to search every nook and cranny of the castle.

Where to find all Daedalian Keys in Hogwarts Legacy

Before we begin the hunt, tracking down the NPC who initiates this quest in the game is important. To begin the mission, approach the Gryffindor student named Nellie Oggspire in the Transfiguration Courtyard who is standing next to the large tree. She will inform the player of the existence of these mysterious flying keys and the premise behind catching them.

In a nutshell, each Daedalian Key can be found in the open world, and chasing it will lead the player to a locked cabinet. To open the cabinet, they will engage in a whack-a-mole-inspired minigame where they must smack the key into the keyhole once the key is hovering over it. Succeeding will reward them with one House Token.

Due to the open-world nature of the game, players can start with any location they desire. There are 16 keys and, as such, 16 House Tokens in all. Once all tokens have been collected, players can visit the Common Room of their House to unlock the House Chest to receive the cosmetic reward.

Here are the locations of all Daedalian Keys in Hogwarts Legacy:

• Key 1 (Astronomy Tower | Astronomy Wing) - Use the Floo Flame fast travel network to teleport to the Astronomy Tower in the Astronomy Wing. Climb the flights of wooden stairs and stop at the landing on top to find a Daedalian Key hovering mid-air. Follow it back down the stairs and into the circular room (next to the Floo Flame location) where a cabinet is located.
• Key 2 (DADA Classroom | Astronomy Wing) - The other Daedalian Key in Hogwarts Legacy’s Astronomy Wing is in the Defence Against the Dark Arts Classroom. Use its Floo Flame from the map to be teleported outside the classroom entrance and take the stairs next to it to go down. The key will be flying next to the skeletal creature statue. Chase it back up the stairs to the Floo Flames landing and head to the opposite end to find the cabinet there.
• Key 3 (Bell Tower Courtyard | Bell Tower Wing) - Travel to the Bell Tower Courtyard located in the Bell Tower Wing up the staircase to the left and enter the door. Now turn left to find another Daedalian Key and follow it to the top of the flights of stairs where a cabinet is located.
• Key 4 (Grand Staircase Tower | Grand Staircase) - The next Daedalian Key is in the Grand Staircase Tower. Once spawned via Floo Flames, look to the right and head down. Head further down the stairs beyond the puzzle door with the animal pictures to find the key on the next landing. Follow it even further downwards turn left, and continue the descent downwards past two more flights of stairs to reach the level with another puzzle door in front. The cabinet rests against the wall adjacent to this puzzle door.
• Key 5 (Quad Courtyard | Grand Staircase) - Once at the Quad Courtyard GFloo Flame location, take the stairs behind the serpentine statue, then up the stairs to the left, then atop the stairs on the immediate right. The Daedalian Key will be on this landing next to the nearby archway. Follow it back down to the statue again and through the corridor to the cabinet.
• Key 6 (Great Hall | The Great Hall) - Visit the iconic Great Hall and once inside its majestic doors, approach the fireplace to the left and cast the revealing spell Revelio to find a flying key. Give chase to follow it up the stairs next to the Floo Flame fast travel spot and find the relevant cabinet on the landing at the top of the stairs.
• Key 7 (Great Hall | The Great Hall) - Fast travel back to the Great Hall but this time, take the exit behind you, then head past the two sets of doors in a straight line. Find the Daedalian Key hovering near the stairwell here and chase it down the stairs to the right-side corner to find the cabinet.
• Key 8 (Potions Classroom | The Library Annex) - Teleport to the Potions Classroom Floo Flame and enter its doors. Look to the left to see a key hovering on the left in the archway. Follow it downstairs to get to the cabinet.
• Key 9 (Central Hall | The Library Annex) - At the Central Hall Floo Flame, wall down to get to the main landing and turn right to walk down the stairs. Look left and cast Revelio to find another Daedalian Key. Chase it to the left side of the main landing to find a cabinet located right opposite to a door puzzle.
• Key 10 (Central Hall | The Library Annex) - Back at the Central Hall Floo Flame, go upwards instead. Past the second set of stairs, turn left to take note of the cabinet here, and then walk up the third stairs to reach the main landing. Do not go up the main stairs here, but instead behind it on the landing and cast Revelio. The key here will take you back to the same cabinet seen before.
• Key 11 (Library | The Library Annex) - This Daedalian Key is located in the Library itself. Travel to the location and cast Revelio past the spiral staircase on the right to pinpoint the location of the key, which is next to a small round table past the bookshelves. Chase it to the cabinet door along the same wall as the Library Floo Flame spot.
• Key 12 (The Map Chamber | Secret Rooms) - Once at the Map Chamber Floo Flame, turn around and climb the upward spiral stairs. Head down the corridor and then another series of spiral stairs and past the metal gate. Look left, head down the stairs, and through the door arch to find the key in this hallway. Chase it outside, down the corridor to the archway’s left, and past the rows of barrels to find the cabinet
• Key 13 (The Map Chamber | Secret Rooms) - Head back to the hallway where Key 12 was found and go down the corridor to the left to reach a room with a sleeping dragon statue and the next Daedalian Key will be right next to it. Follow the key up the sets of stairs on the left to find the cabinet waiting at the top
• Key 14 (Faculty Tower | The South Wing) - After traveling to this spot, head down the corridor and take the first door to the right. Here, take note of the cabinet next to the staircase in front. Now take the two flights of stairs up and cast Revelio to find a key in front of the door puzzle on this landing. Follow it back down to the cabinet.
• Key 15 (Hospital Wing | The South Wing) - After traveling to the Hospital Wing Floo Flame, turn around and head down the spiral stairs. On this landing, note a statue of a person and the cabinet to the left of it along the wall. Now head through the long corridor lined with portraits, stop midway to cast Revelio to find a Daedalian Key, and follow it back to the cabinet.
• Key 16 (Clock Tower Courtyard | The South Wing) - At the Clock Tower Courtyard Floo Flame location, approach the wooden door in front which will have a lock of Level 1 toughness. To open it, you will need to have learned the Alohomora spell from the “Caretaker’s Lunar Lament” questline. Use it to open the lock and go up the staircase and onto the landing above, Here, cast Revelio to find the Daedalian Key near a door puzzle, then use the archway nearest to this location to head further up the stairs at the very top. Here, turn left to find the cabinet on the landing.
