Honkai Impact 3rd x Honkai: Star Rail Collab character and release date

The Honkai Impact 3rd x Honkai: Star Rail Collab will be released soon across all global servers. In a first-of-its-kind collaboration, this collab will be a crossover between the universes of HoYoverse's two Honkai games. An overlap in the form of similar characters (also known as EXPYs) already exists, but this will be the first official bridge between the two vastly different Honkai universes.

A preview of the collab was teased a few days ago on X and YouTube. But the official announcement regarding the Honkai Impact 3rd x Honkai: Star Rail Collab has been released today. The following section dives more about this upcoming collaboration, including the main featured character for the collab as well as the release date.

Honkai Impact 3rd x Honkai: Star Rail Collab to feature Sparkle

As announced in the full Behind-The-Scenes video for the collab (published on Honkai Impact 3rd's official YouTube channel), the Honkai: Star Rail character Sparkle will be the face of this collab. The Honkai Impact 3rd x Honkai: Star Rail Collab will be released on November 28, 2024, in Honkai Impact 3rd v7.9.

Sparkle's appearance in Honkai Impact 3rd might be a little surprising to many, considering she is an original character from Honkai: Star Rail. Some fans think that featuring a character who already exists in both Honkai universes might have been the better choice. Regardless, the fun-loving Masked Fool Sparkle is HoYoverse's official pick for this collab.

In the video, we can see that other plots for the Honkai Impact 3rd x Honkai: Star Rail Collab collab were also in the running. These included various characters from both the Honkai games, with plot points for a showdown between the characters of the Astral Express and St. Freya also being in the works. However, as evident from the ending of the video, Sparkle will be the one debuting in Honkai Impact 3rd.

That said, there is now a high possibility of other characters making a cameo in future Honkai Impact 3rd chapters/events. This is especially true of the characters who are present both in Honkai Impact 3rd and in Honkai Star Rail, such as Bronya, Seele, Welt, Himeko, etc.

As shared by reputed leaker Dimbreath, Sparkle will be a playable Quantum Valkyrie, who will use a Drive Core weapon. Per the leak, she is supposed to be released with a separate skin as well. However, no information is available yet as to whether players will get her for free or she will have a banner of her own.

Furthermore, Sparkle has already made her appearance in the official Honkai Impact 3rd story in v7.8 (currently happening on the CN server). Thus it is expected that she will make her appearance in the Honkai Impact 3rd v7.8 main story for global servers as well, followed by her appearance in the collab in v7.9.
