Developer HoYoverse has found itself in some controversy lately, with Honkai Star Rail being affected by a string of unfortunate events. There has been a fair bit of controversy surrounding the English voice actor for Moze, as he has been accused of sexual abuse, manipulation, and emotional trauma by his ex-girlfriends and former colleagues.
Understandably, Honkai Star Rail fans are quite upset with this development, especially with this not being the first time the VA (Chris Niosi) has been met with (and penalized) for such allegations.
Conveying the same, X user @SipSipStefen remarks:

“Please remove Moze’s VA…”
User @Valerian Kebab also makes an important point, questioning why the agency even hired him in the first place, given that Nintendo let him go back in 2019. For those curious, Niosi initially was the VA for the protagonist of a Fire Emblem game (Byleth) until these allegations surfaced, forcing Nintendo to replace him.
@Lostforever condemns the incident, remarking that Niosi should be held accountable for his actions. In turn, they have also expressed the desire to play Honkai Star Rail in the Japanese dub as a sign of protest.
@Timely KafHime and Trailblazer(s) also revealed certain important details surrounding the incident, remarking that the playerbase should not let this protest die down, and force the developers to hopefully replace him as Moze’s VA soon.
@Nerdy also adds more to the case, pointing out that Niosi “rubbed me as a creep”, and that they likely dodged a bullet - as they knew the person in real life.
@Mujin wants the drama to end, quoting:
“Can we go one day without someone being weird”
@Anchored also remarks on how recent developments have resulted in HoYoverse “digging themselves a bigger hole”, which is quite a worrying trend.
Regardless, Star Rail fans seem to be united in their stand on the matter and want Moze’s VA to be recast as soon as possible.
HoYoverse and Honkai Star Rail should likely have done a background check on their voice actors before hiring them
Note: This part of the article is subjective and reflects the author’s opinions.
The negligence of HoYoverse’s agency is not to be left unquestioned here, as they should have done better. Running background checks on potential new employees is a must, especially when taking into account that Niosi was laid off by Nintendo in 2019, a week before the launch of a major game.
Regardless, Honkai Star Rail must address this issue ASAP, and arrange for a way to replace Moze’s VA.
