To start playing the first stage of the Operation Memoria Snapshot event in Honkai Star Rail, you need to unlock it by completing the short quest 'Operation Snapshot: Day 1' and talking to an NPC named Randolph in Central Starskiff Haven on Xianzhou. He will give you a brief overview of the event, following which the Day 1 stage will be unlocked.
Operation Snapshot: Day 1
The objective of each stage of the Operation Memoria Snapshot event is to take pictures of as many Trashcans as you can. Certain Trashcans will be openly visible, whereas some will be hiding in the distance.
To get a full score on the Day 1 stage of the event, you will have to take pictures of 10 Bronze Trashcans, 12 Silver Trashcans, and 3 Gold Trashcans.
Here are the locations of all 25 Trashcans:
Trashcans 1 and 2
The first two Bronze trashcans are visible right as the camera starts moving. Take pictures of both one by one.
Trashcans 3 and 4
The next two Bronze trashcans are also right in front of the camera. Snap pictures of both accordingly.
Trashcan 5
The fifth Trashcan (Silver) will become visible only after the camera passes the fourth Trashcan, and you can take a picture of it as it walks out from the door.
Trashcan 6
This Silver Trashcan will pop out from behind the tree in the distance, so keep an eye out for it and snap a picture of it in time.
Trashcan 7
Trashcan 7 is a Gold Trashcan, and taking pictures of these while they strike a special pose will give you more points. Wait for the Gold Trashcan to start doing its pose, and then take a picture.
Trashcan 8
This Bronze Trashcan is standing behind the NPC and the shelves and is fairly easy to spot. Take a picture of it as the camera passes by.
Trashcan 9
The next Trashcan is another Silver Trashcan that will show up only after the camera passes by it. Aim your crosshair at the door and wait for the Trashcan to show up. Once it does, quickly take a picture.
Trashcan 10
This Silver Trashcan will first be lying on the ground, but will quickly stand up and walk away once the camera starts approaching it. Take a picture before it can walk away and de-spawn.
Trashcan 11
This Bronze Trashcan is standing between the two tables and is in plain sight of the camera.
Trashcan 12
This Silver Trashcan pops out from behind the tree in the back after the camera crosses Trashcan 11. Move the camera towards it and take a picture.
Trashcan 13
The next Trashcan is a Gold Trashcan who will strike a special pose once the camera moves towards it. Take a picture quickly while it is striking a pose.
Trashcan 14
This Bronze Trashcan is right beside the table. Lower the camera a bit and snap a picture.
Trashcans 15 and 16
The next two trashcans are Silver trashcans. Trashcan 15 can be seen running towards the left, while Trashcan 16 simultaneously jumps out from behind the tree in the back. Take both their pictures one by one.
Trashcan 17
This Bronze Trashcan is sitting down on the ground near the stairs. Move the camera down to ground level to take its picture.
Trashcan 18
The next Trashcan is a Silver Trashcan that falls from the sky. Take a picture of it as it jumps up and uprights itself.
Trashcan 19
Quickly shift the camera upwards to take a picture of the next Silver Trashcan popping out from behind the tree in the distance.
Trashcan 20
This Bronze Trashcan can be found standing in front of the food stall and is in plain view. Snap its picture as the camera crosses it.
Trashcan 21
Taking a picture of this Gold Trashcan is a little tricky because getting the timing right is essential. Do not take a picture of the Trashcan right away when the camera passes by it. Instead, wait for it to do its special pose. Once it starts striking its pose, aim the crosshair on it and quickly snap a picture.
Trashcans 22 and 23
The next two Trashcans are a Silver and a Bronze. The Silver Trashcan is behind the lady's chair, and the Bronze Trashcan is leaning against the pole. Take both their pictures one after the other.
Trashcan 24
This is another Silver Trashcan that falls from the sky. Wait for it to hit the ground and then snap its picture.
Trashcan 25
The last Trashcan is a Silver Trashcan that jumps up from behind the bushes. Wait for it to appear and then take a picture.
