Sampo of Honkai Star Rail is one of the central characters of the Jarilo-VI main story arc and he has a lot going for him when it comes to both his story and kit. He is considered the master of DoT (Damage over time) and is associated with the Nihility path. He wields the Wind element and is one of the more decent damage dealers in the game.

The following article will list the best Light Cones, Relics, and Traces that you should prioritize while building Sampo in Honkai Star Rail.

What is the best DoT build for Sampo in Honkai Star Rail

1) Skills and Traces to prioritize for Sampo

Before starting, it should be noted that Sampo's skills are based on his attack damage. However, the true DoT factor starts with his skill, ultimate, and talent. His skill can deal Wind damage for an extended number of turns, while his ultimate can increase any DoT damage applicable to enemies, including burn, frozen, shock, and more.

Sampo's technique, Shining Bright, can blind enemies and delay their actions by 25%. The last debuff has a guaranteed chance of activation. In terms of Traces, both ATK and Effect Hit Rate take priority here, as both stats are tied to Sampo's DoT.

2) Light Cones

The best Light Cone for Sampo is the 4-star "Good Night and Sleep Well," increasing the wearer's attack damage by 12% based on every debuff the enemies have. This effect can stack up to three times and applies to DoT damage as well. Unfortunately, there are no F2P means to acquire this Light Cone, as it is tied to the Gacha pool.

Another 4-star Light Cone, called "Eyes of the Prey," can increase the wearer's Effect Hit Rate and DoT significantly. It is also one of the BiS weapons for Sampo, since both the stats can buff Sampo's overall damage. This particular Light Cone can be acquired via Gacha as well.

In terms of F2P Light Cones, the "Fermata" from Lucent Afterglow shop can increase the wearer's Break Effect, as well as damage if the enemy is affected by Wind Shear or shock. The last effect applies to DoT as well.

3) Relics

For Sampo, the 4-set of Eagle of Twilight Line is viable, as it grants Wind Damage to the wearer and advances their move by 25% upon casting an ultimate. You can teleport to the Cavern of Corrosion: Path of Gelid Wind and farm the set at any equilibrium level.

For Planar Ornaments, the Pan Galactic 2-piece set can increase the wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 10% and an extra 25% attack based on the wearer's Effect Hit Rate.
