Drip marketing for Honkai Star Rail version 2.7 is drawing close, and should supposedly happen sometime next week. According to leaks, Sunday should be one of the characters who will be announced for the 2.7 drip marketing. Speculations regarding Sunday’s playable status and release date have been a much-discussed topic over the last few months, with various leakers suggesting various release dates. With the launch of Honkai Star Rail 2.7 drawing to a close, leaks now suggest that Sunday will be playable in version 2.7. However, fans will have to wait for the official drip marketing to find out the credibility of these leaks.

Sunday is one of the principal characters of the Penacony arc of Honkai Star Rail, and he plays a crucial role in Penacony’s storyline. Sunday’s last on-screen appearance suggested that his personal storyline was not yet finished, which lines up with the leaks regarding Sunday’s addition to the playable character roster.

Recent leaks from HomDGCat regarding Sunday’s possible lightcone have suggested that he will be a Harmony character in his playable form, and his Ultimate providing teamwide DMG buffs. This leak coincides with a similar leak shared by reputed leaker Dimbreath a few weeks back. If these leaks turn out to be true, Sunday will be Honkai Star Rail’s first limited male Harmony character.

While previous leaks hinted at Sunday’s element being Imaginary, fans will have to wait a while longer for confirmation from HoYoverse regarding his actual path and element.

Leakers ZLeaks and Team Mew have also further suggested that Sunday’s Ultimate animation will have him holding his hands in a position of prayer, with thorns wrapped around them. He will also supposedly be lifting his teammates up during his Ultimate animation. Additional leaks from ZLeaks have mentioned the motif of thorns being repeated in Sunday’s skill animations and effects.

Previously, leaks about Sunday's playable outfit model had surfaced, which depicted the character in a dark blue and white outfit with an Astral Express ticket emblazoned on his coat. This hinted at Sunday's status as an Astral Express Crew member.

Furthermore, leaker hxg_diluc has recently disclosed some information about Sunday’s splash art, which suggests that Sunday might be playable in the upcoming patches. According to him, Sunday’s art will include him standing whilst floating in the air.
