Ex-G2 IGL Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen recently did a podcast, unveiling key information about his time with the European powerhouse G2 esports. Having been recently benched by G2 Esports, he is free to look for other opportunities in the scene.

The Danish IGL talked about several incidents in the podcast, including Snax’s signing and JKS’s removal, among other things. In a recent post on the Counter-Strike’s subreddit named r/GlobalOffensjve, a user u/plasticlove translated a part of HooXi’s interview from Danish to English.

The 29-year-old rifler appeared to be upset with certain decisions made by the organization, although he admitted that some of them were good. This article will explore a few key points on HooXi’s podcast from u/plasticlove’s post on Reddit.

HooXi thinks signing Snax is a "big mistake"

The Danish IGL seemed to be of the opinion that signing Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski is a big mistake for the European powerhouse G2 Esports. Earlier, Taz caught the Counter-Strike community by surprise after announcing the signing of his ex-teammate Snax.

The 31-year-old rifler has returned to the Tier-1 CS esports scene after a long time. Even netizens have doubted this signing as they don’t think Snax has what it takes to be the best fit for the current esports scene.

However, it’ll be interesting to see the new trio of Snax, NiKo, and m0NESY in action in the upcoming Esports World Cup.

HooXi also expressed concern regarding benching JKS from the main roster in 2023. According to the ex-IGL, it was a blunder to remove the Australian talent from the roster. JKS was one of the best anchor players at that phase of CS: GO. However, G2 benched him as his performance wasn’t fitting well with the team composition.

The former IGL also mentioned that Team Falcons was in talks with NiKo. According to the Danish professional, it would be impossible for G2 to replace such an exceptional Bosnian talent like NiKo.

In fact, in his statement, the Danish IGL praised NiKo since he took a huge responsibility when the team lacked morale. He also insisted that the Bosnian rifled has an exceptional work ethic that an esports professional should have.

Furthermore, the Danish IGL revealed a surprising fact that was not known publicly. Before his appearance on the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024, G2 officials had already hinted that they’re most likely finding a replacement for him. This might’ve affected HooXi's performance in the prestigious BLAST tournament.

In the podcast, HooXi revealed his three offers from various organizations before he joined G2 Esports. He mentioned GamrLegion, EG, and G2, where EG offered the Danish rifler the highest amount of money. However, he acknowledged his time on G2 by saying it was his “best experience”.

Lastly, the ex-IEM Cologne 2023 winner revealed his future plan in the Counter-Strike esports scene. According to him, he’s not likely to join a team before the upcoming Perfect World CS2 Shanghai Major 2024.
