Those unfamiliar with Blizzard Entertainment’s hero shooter may wonder how they can add friends in Overwatch 2. While you can solo queue most of the time, playing with friends can be a fun experience. Having company while playing can also ease the frustration of losing a match and make the game more entertaining, as you pull off some shenanigans.

However, due to the in-game interface, sending friend requests or adding friends in Overwatch 2 can be a little confusing. Having said that, this article discusses how to send friend requests from various platforms.

Process of adding friends in Overwatch 2

If you are playing Overwatch 2 on PC, adding friends is a straightforward process. There are two methods to add friends. These are as follows:

Battle.net

• Fire up Battle.net launcher.
• Click on the “Add a Friend” button below your avatar on the launcher which will open a pop-up window.
• Now type in or paste your friends’ BattleTag or Email address that is associated with the account.
• Hit the “Send Request” button beside it to finish the process.

Steam

• Launch Steam and start Overwatch 2.
• Click on Social to open your Overwatch 2 friend list.
• Hit the Add Friend button beside your account status to open a pop-up window.
• Type in the BattleTag and click on Send Request to end the procedure.

Consoles

The procedure to add friends in Overwatch 2 for the PlayStation and Xbox is largely identical. Follow these steps:

• Fire up your console and launch Overwatch 2.
• From the main menu, hit the Social option to open your friend’s list.
• When your friend’s list is open, click the Menu (Xbox) or Options (PlayStation) button on your controller to open a pop-up window.
• Type or paste your friend’s BattleTag or Email address in to complete the procedure.

Additionally, keep in mind that you must type in your friend’s BattleTag name along with the Hashtag symbol before the numbers.
