How to appraise items in Metaphor ReFantazio

Exploring the vast kingdom of Euchronia in Metaphor ReFantazio will net players many items and equipment, However, some of these might not be useable. Interestingly, these seemingly junk items can be turned into shiny new equipment, although they will need to be appraised first. Still, the conversion process is quite easy and we recommend players do it whenever possible.

Where can you appraise items in Metaphor ReFantazio?

Appraisal is done at vendors found in the pockets of civilizations around the map. Simply approach a General Store, Blacksmith, or Armor Store and interact with it to get the Appraise option. The results of this will help players identify what equipment they get.

Here, the unusable items can be turned into proper equipment at a cost. Check below for the full list of all equipment that can be obtained after appraising a specific item.

The possible loot that can be obtained includes two weapons, one armor, and two accessories for a total of 5 loot pieces. They can be equipped by any character, though certain gear is best used by specific Archetypes only.

There is another requirement that needs to be fulfilled before appraisal even becomes available. Players must first finish a side quest to unlock the option to appraise items. It is a fairly simple fetch quest that sees players grab an item of interest for an NPC, which should then reward them with one of the items that can be appraised.

Metaphor ReFantazio will be challenging even for MegaTen fans, so players will need to stay on top of their equipment game at all times by using the best possible gear on all their party members. This is to ensure that they can beat even the most challenging encounters in the game like the boss fights against terrifying monsters called Humans.
