How to assign roles to Villagers in Kunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess

Kunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess is a unique strategy game with tower elements where players assign roles to Villagers so they can band together and keep the priestess Yoshiro safe from the demonic Seethe. How do you assign roles to Villagers in Kunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess?

You will be introduced to managing roles early on in the game. To assign a role to a Villager, approach them and:

• Press the F key on the keyboard (for PC)
• Press the R1 button on PlayStation or the RB button on Xbox

This will bring up a menu where you can select from a list of roles. These fit different archetypes, like the damage-oriented Woodcutter, ranged Archer, tanky Sumo-Wrestler, and so on. It should be noted that each role has an associated Crystal cost, a type of currency in Kunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess. These are primarily obtained upon defeating the Seethe and clearing defilement across the land.

While the starter roles like Woodcutter and Archer only cost 50 Crystals, the Sumo Wrestler costs 350. After a role has been assigned to a Villager, you can change them even during active combat by once again bringing up the Roles screen and selecting another archetype. Keep in mind that even changing roles costs Crystals, so spend them wisely.

While this swapping tactic will not be needed early on, the levels and bosses in Kunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess do get harder and harder as you descend the mountain. So there may be times you will need to change a Villager's role on the fly to keep the incoming Seethe threat at bay. Thankfully defeated demons drop Crystals so there should be plenty scattered around during a level for you to manage.
