Best teams to beat Newborn Dead End Butcher in Zenless Zone Zero

Most Agents in Zenless Zone Zero should be able to defeat the Newborn Dead End Butcher with brute force. However, using a favorable team composition that aligns with the entity's weaknesses can make this job easy. Since the boss is susceptible to the Ice and Ether elements, use the following setups:

• Ellen+ Lycaon+ Soukaku
• Zhu Yuan+ Nicole+ Rina

The mono-Ice composition is currently one of the strongest teams in the game, comprising two S-Rank Agents. Ellen, being the cornerstone of the squad, will have to primarily deal damage, while Lycaon can constantly Daze the enemy with his Stun specialization.

As of writing, Zhu Yuan is set to debut soon, but she already holds a spot on the best team against the Newborn Dead End Butcher given the entity's Ether weakness. Coupled with Nichole’s help, the only other Agent from the element, they should be able to quickly dispatch this weekly boss.

Zenless Zone Zero combat is mostly hack and slash, so you should be able to tackle any enemy as long as your character deals sufficient damage while staying alive. It's mostly the same for Newborn Dead End Butcher, except you have to read some of his movesets and dodge or parry accordingly to stay alive. Here are a few tips that will help you in the boss battle.

• Pick one of the three Resonias before entering the battle. They are essentially buffs for your squad, so make sure to align them accordingly. For instance, if you use the Ice team, pick the Resonia catered to the Freeze Anomaly.
• The Newborn Dead End Butcher has two phases, so play safe in the initial form to conserve your character’s health.
• Parry whenever possible. Sometimes the boss can unleash consecutive attacks, something you have to be careful about.
• Try to evade when you see a charge-up animation of the boss. It indicates either an AoE attack or an energy beam, which cannot be parried.
