Eridium was first introduced to the player base in Borderlands 2 before showing up again in the third installment. This element is a loot drop that players can obtain randomly during their playthrough and later use as an alternate currency. After its return in Borderlands 3, players can obtain the element by destroying purple-colored Eridium Crystals. However, this can only be done after they have progressed far enough in the main campaign.

Players can purchase some cool-looking cosmetics and weapons from Crazy Earl with the catch being that they can only be bought using Eridium. However, getting the element will require players to first get the Eridian Resonator. This article will cover how to break Eridium in Borderlands 3.

Breaking the Eridium Crystals in the game's early stages is impossible as you will require the Eridian Resonator, which is obtainable after you finish Chapter 10 of the main campaign of Borderlands 3. Once you acquire this equipment, it will automatically become a part of your hand, removing the need to equip it from the inventory to hit the crystals.

The next thing you require is the Eridian Analyzer which can be obtained after defeating the final boss in the main campaign of Borderlands 3. This equipment is required to translate the Eridian language, so if you are still far behind in the story, interacting with the writings will save their coordinates on your map.

Once the equipment is acquired, visit the Sanctuary and talk to Tannis. He will explain to you the workings of the analyzer and every writing that gets scanned will reward you 25 Eridium.

Another way to obtain the element is by wrapping up any challenges you have left from the menu. Challenges like killing the Lavender Crawley can allow players to earn some Eridium easily. An easy way to farm this element is by visiting the locations where you meet Crawleys. Everything you earn on these farming runs will get saved and reappear after you reload your save.

Moreover, throughout the game, this element will sometimes be a random drop that you come across if you are lucky. You can also put it in a slot machine, where winning might reward you with a legendary weapon.
