The process of capturing the Mothman in Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance is tied to a quest called "Can I keep them?" that requires you to talk to Lilim. The character can be found in the south of the Konan 3rd Block Leyline Fount, where you have to avoid a huge Girimekhala sitting in a pit. While avoiding him, you can circle the corner to find Lilim waiting for you.

You can initiate a conversation with her, and she will give you a side quest asking you to collect 10 Mothmen. She will even hand you a Mothman Capture Pot. However, you don't need to utilize it as you only need to defeat the demons in combat to collect them.

Mothmen can be found in Konan 3rd Block in the upper and lower parts, where you can take them down one by one before capturing them. They are quite easy to take down as their weakness is Force magic. You are recommended to use Zan magic to beat them.
