Dragon Age The Veilguard offers a new story experience with an all-new customizable protagonist, which players will no doubt spend a decent amount of time tailoring to their tastes in the early character creator. Thankfully, those who do end up rushing with a default preset can still get the option to customize their avatar later on in the game.

How to change character appearance in Dragon Age The Veilguard

Players who begin a new save file will not need to wait much longer to access appearance customization again. After the introductory sequence of stopping Solas' ritual is over about an hour or so into the game, the hero and their team will find themselves in the Fade — an alternate spirit realm where people go when they dream.

Here, they will wake up in an area called the Lighthouse after Varric, one of the several companions in the game, gets injured. On the other side of the room in the corner, players can find the Mirror of Transformation. Interacting with it will bring up the character creation screen, so they can alter their protagonist's look once again.

That said, only the appearance aspect can be changed. Other elements, such as Lineage, Class, Faction, Backstory, and Identity (e.g., Gender, and Pronouns), are set in stone.

Among the options, here's what can be customized:

• Head
• Body
• Eyes & Eyebrows
• Nose
• Mouth
• Ear
• Hair
• Makeup
• Tattoo, Scars & Paint
• Name, Voice & Pitch

The Mirror of Transformation can be accessed as many times as desired with no penalty to do so. This should grant a further level of control over how players can get their hero to look as they try to stop evil from wreaking havoc on the world.
