Changing the Server Region in Deadlock is not as straightforward as many other games. Considering it is still in early development, this is likely intentional and a more user-friendly way could be introduced with the final title's release. Gamers appear to be enjoying Deadlock so far, but the limited matchmaking hours and difficulty changing the Server Region have been a hindrance.

On that note, here's how to change the Server Region in Deadlock.

You can use the console commands to change a lot of things in the game. Meanwhile, the default region for users outside of the United States is Europe. You can check your server region in Deadlock in the bottom right window. This window also has matchmaking hours, a feedback form, and a private Discord invite link.

To change the Server Region, follow these steps:

  • Launch the game and press F7 to access the game console.
  • Past citadel_region_override in the textbox.
  • If you see citadel_region_override -1, it means that the server selection is set to automatic.

All the server regions have different numbers assigned. These are:

RegionConsole Command
North Americacitadel_region_override 0
Europecitadel_region_override 1
Asiacitadel_region_override 2
South Americacitadel_region_override 3
Oceaniacitadel_region_override 5

Remove the -1 and paste one of the above-mentioned numbers, as per your server preference. Press Enter and check the bottom right window. The server region should change immediately.

It must be noted that the command gets reset every time you restart the game, which is why you must open the console and paste the console command each time to play on your desired server region in Deadlock. A more user-friendly method is expected with the game's public release.

Interestingly, the console command currently does not have the number 4 assigned for any region, likely hinting that more server regions could be added later to the game.
