EA Sports introduced a new User Renaming feature in EA FC Mobile Season 2
EA Sports stated the following in the recent patch notes:
“You’ve asked, and we’ve listened! With our Anniversary Update, we're excited to introduce the much-requested User Renaming feature.”
As the update went live on September 24, 2024, players now have the opportunity to change their username one time for free. This comes as part of the Anniversary Update, which gifts each player a "Rename Card," which is a special item required to change your username.
However, once the free Rename Card has been used, any further name changes will require purchasing a new Rename Card, which will be available monthly in the in-game store. This limitation means players should choose their new username wisely.
Steps to change Username in EA FC Mobile
To successfully change your username in EA FC Mobile Season 2, follow these steps:
- Access Your Player Profile: At the top left corner of your screen, click on your Player Profile. This will bring up all relevant information about your in-game account, including your current username, profile picture, and club.
- Locate the Edit Icon: Just below the Team Profile segment, you’ll find a small pen icon (edit icon) next to your existing username. Click this icon to begin the renaming process.
- Enter the New Username: A text field will appear where you can enter your new desired username. Note that the name must be within the 16-character limit, and certain special characters may not be allowed.
- Confirm the New Username: After entering your new username, click on the Confirm button. However, the new username will only be applied if you possess a Rename Card in your inventory.
If you have the free Rename Card from the Anniversary Update, the name change will be processed immediately. If not, you’ll need to purchase a Rename Card from the store to proceed.
EA FC Mobile has however, included a disclaimer to ensure players make smart choices when changing their username. Your new username will be visible to other players, so EA advises not to include personal information like your real name or any sensitive data.
Keeping your username simple, creative, and memorable is the key to standing out while ensuring your privacy remains intact.
