How to complete Academic Interest in Gray Zone Warfare

Academic Interest is a single-objective task given by Turncoat, one of the six vendors in Gray Zone Warfare. It involves searching for and retrieving certain drug evidence. However, you will encounter multiple armed AI soldiers, and the precise location of the evidence is unknown, making the task difficult. Searching for the evidence can take a lot of time.

However, the task becomes simpler if you know the location of the evidence in advance. This guide provides details about this task and the precise location of the evidence in Gray Zone Warfare.

The Academic Interest mission is the same across all factions in Gray Zone Warfare: Lamang Recovery Initiative, Mithras Security System, and Crimson Shield International.

Turncoat asks you a favor to retrieve evidence of drug sales in the Upper Crust in Midnight Sapphire. He wants to study this evidence and learn about the history of the Lamang drug trade.

The objective here is to retrieve evidence of the drug trade in Midnight Sapphire and report back to Turncoat.

After accepting this task, head to the northern side of the map. Make your way toward the Midnight Sapphire Hotel at map coordinates 171, 166.

Once you reach the hotel, go to the right side of the building where you will find a stairway. Head upstairs, and on the northeast side, you will see an entrance labeled Employee Entrance. Enter it and you will find yourself in the kitchen area where the evidence is located.

Be cautious of armed AI soldiers who will aggressively push towards you. Take cover and eliminate them. Once inside the kitchen, immediately turn right, and you will find a small room to your right. Enter it, and on the left side, you will see a box on the bottom shelf. As you approach, a prompt will appear stating Suspicious Box. Collect it and return to your base camp.

Finally, select Turncoat from the list of vendors and report to him. This will complete the Academic Interest mission in Gray Zone Warfare.

Upon completion, you will receive the following rewards:

• AK-74M
• 1000 Experience Points
• 200 Reputation with Turncoat
