Players will be able to summon Dryleaf Dane as an ally during the boss fight against Rellana, the Twin Moon Knight. This is technically the first encounter with the NPC, although players will be able to meet with him in person after they collect the Monk’s Missive.

The item can be collected at the High Road Cross grace site, north of the Castle Ensis. After you speak with Hornset, head to the marked location on the updated map (near Scadu Atlus) to find Dryleaf Dane.

Once within the Moorth Ruins, grab the optional Scadutree Fragment nearby and use the unlocked “May the Best Win” emote/gesture toward the NPC. You will now be whisked away to another realm, where you must face off against Dryleaf Dane to prove your mettle.

Completing this battle will teleport you back to the Site of Grace, unlocking a set of rewards as well as a note that reads:

“Grow not complacent. Continue to temper your strength”.

Head back to Leda and ask about the whereabouts of the “silent monk” to continue further.

Players can also grab another note from Dane at the Ancient Ruins of Rauh. Dane is nowhere to be found here though, and silently awaits the player in the third and final encounter.

The Dryleaf Dane questline in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree reaches its final climax during the final dungeon. Players will be confronted by Needle Knight Leda in this section, where they will be challenged to a fight.

While certain parameters and choices are flexible, players will ultimately have to face off against Dryleaf Dane in the end.
