How to complete Magic of the Ancients in Dragon Age The Veilguard

As you enter the Arlathan Forest in Dragon Age The Veilguard, you will come across The Magic of the Ancients quest. This mission requires you to fix and charge three crystals to repair an old Ancient Artifact. As you have to repair Elven Artifacts, you will have to take Bellara as your companion to the Jagged Ruins area in the Arlathan Forest.

Dragon Age The Veilguard: Magic of the Ancients walkthrough

Even though you can also choose to use Solas' Lyrium Dagger's Tinker ability instead of taking Bellara with you, the latter option will increase your chances of romancing Bellara in the future. To complete this quest, you must charge three crystals using the tinker ability. The locations of all three of the crystals are mentioned below:

First crystal

As you reach the Artifact in the forest, you can spot the first crystal just to its right side. Take the platforms to the left and continue on this path until you reach a staircase. From this point, keep following the same path instead of taking the stairs to reach the first crystal.

Second crystal

Go back to the path that you came from, but this time, take the stairs you earlier skipped. As you reach the zipline here, there will be a malfunctioning device to the right that you need to fix first. Once this is done, take the zipline and keep following the path to find the second crystal.

Third crystal

Before collecting the last crystal of Magic of The Ancients in Dragon Age The Veilguard, activate the Beam Generator by the second crystal and point it to the malfunctioning device you earlier repaired by the zipline. Using this newly constructed bridge, reach the Artifact and use Bellara's ability to fix it.

Once this is done, you will be rewarded with the following:

• 500 XP
• 200 Gold
• +100 Veil Jumper Strength
• Five Vhenadahl's Tears
• Increased bond with companion
