These will help you get your hands on increasingly stronger gear to take on the harsh challenges that await you across the "Journey To The West"-inspired adventure from Chinese developer Game Science.

How to craft weapons and armor in Black Myth Wukong

Weapon crafting is unlocked upon reaching the Guanyin Temple Shrine. Past this point, you can craft gear at any Keeper's Shrines in the game. These are checkpoints that users can rest at to take a breather from all the action.

Here, a bunch of options are available, of which armor and weapon making is one. These can be created via the Craft Armor and Craft Weapon options under the shrine's Craft menu.

The process is similar in both cases as you must invest resources across the weapon or armor tree to get the specific equipment. You require Will, the main resource of the game, alongside additional items. For example, the Loongwreathe Staff in the above screenshot needs ingredients such as Refined Iron Sand, Thunder Tail, and Thunderbone.

How do you upgrade armor in Black Myth Wukong?

Crafted armor can be upgraded to make it more powerful. Upgrading however is not easy, as you must jump through a few hoops to get to that point. Simply put, you can upgrade armor at the NPC called Yin Tiger in the Painted Realm. Here you craft additional gear as well if you wish.

With a bunch of armor sets available in the game, here are a couple of early recommendations for you to craft and use:

Wave-Rider Set

• Set Pieces: Serpentscale Battlerobe (Defense: 18), Serpentscale Bracers (Defense: 7 / Poison Res: 3) and Serpentscale Gaiters (Defense: 11 / Poison Res: 2)
• 3-Piece effect: Massively reduces Stamina Cost when in water

Gale Guardian Set

• Set Pieces: Galeguard Beast Mask (Defense: 18), Galeguard Beastmaw Armor (Defense: 35 / Shock Res: 4), Galeguard Bracers (Defense: 14) and Galeguard Greaves (Defense: 21)
• 2-Piece Effect: Upon Perfect Dodges, grants considerable additional Focus.
• 4-Piece Effect: Perfect Dodges slightly reduces Cooldown for all Spells.
