To customize your character, go to the Customize screen, which is the tab right next to Play. Here, select the left option, which will take you to the character customization screen. The next menu brings up the roster of Heroes and Villains in My Hero Ultra Rumble.

Pick your desired character to be greeted by the customization screen. Here, players can select between various categories, namely Costume, Voice, Emote, and Emblem. The costume is the attire of the character, and players will be able to earn new costumes via various means like the License (Battle Pass) system. Do note that these skins are purely cosmetic and offer no gameplay bonuses.

The Voices section allows for equipping various voice lines for the character. This is great for communicating with teammates when battling for victory in the sandbox map. Emotes, meanwhile, are a no-brainer for a multiplayer title. Players can perform various moves, gestures, and postures to further personalize their character.

What is My Hero Ultra Rumble about?

Based on the popular My Hero Academia manga, My Hero Ultra Rumble is a hero-based Battle Royale experience developed by Byking Inc. and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. Players control one of many fan-favorite characters from the anime, such as Izuku Midoriya, Denki Kaminari, and even All Might, for a total of 18 characters.

Regardless of which character players pick, each will possess unique skills and abilities. So, both sides need to be vary of any surprises that may catch them off guard. The goal is to eliminate foes while evading a shrinking ring, which is par for the genre. Without guns, however, players instead rely on melee strikes, projectile attacks, and using objects from the environment to gain the upper hand.

My Hero Ultra Rumble was released as a free-to-play game on September 29, 2023. It is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Although a rendition for current-generation home consoles does not exist, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players can still enjoy it on those platforms via the backward compatibility feature.
