Defeating Archdemon Razikale in Dragon Age The Veilguard
The battle against the Archdemon Razikale will take place within the Siege of Wiesshaupt. After the First Warden is attacked by the boss and Ghilan'nain begins chanting, the fight will commence. It takes part across three phases, which are triggered by the gradual depletion of Razikale's health during combat.
Throughout the fight, beware of glowing red circles that denote the boss's dive attack and the green vomit-like substance that it expels from its mouth. Both of these can cause a lot of damage to the party.
During the first phase, avoid being in the area where the boss slams its head into the ground. Keep launching attacks onto the boss, especially when Blight Boils appear on its head, as these can cause immense damage to it. Use fire attacks and the Explosive Shield, and launch attacks even when its head rises upwards. Once the health bar is completely depleted, the second phase will begin.
Ghilan'nain chants once again and resurrects the Archdemon, although it now has two heads and a replenished health bar. Prioritize dodging for defense in this phase, as avoiding attacks from two heads can prove to be challenging. Similar to the first phase, target Blight Boils and use combos to keep reducing its health.
When Razikale's health has been reduced significantly, it will retreat below the water, allowing Hurlocks to appear on the battlefield. Use attacks like the Driving Kick to provide mass damage to the Hurlocks gathered nearby. They should not be too challenging to defeat, and even standard attacks can be used to clear them out.
After a while, the boss will return to provide damage to the party. Depleting Razikale's health bar will result in another small cutscene where Ghilan'nain partakes in a chant. The Archdemon now returns with three heads attached to its body. This starts the third and final phase, which unleashes the full strength and potential of this boss.
Much like the previous phase, dodging and attacking while targeting Blight Boils is the ideal strategy for this phase. Once again, Razikale will temporarily retreat when the health bar has been reduced significantly and reappear after some time. This allows for some Hurlocks and Ghouls to appear on the battlefield and deal additional damage to the party. Remember to heal up if health reserves get low.
Arguably the lengthiest of the three, the tactics employed in the previous phases will come in handy in this phase. With a combination of fire attacks, repelling the Hurlocks, and some handy dodging, Archdemon Razikale can finally be defeated. This also ends the Siege of Wiesshaupt.
The rewards for completing the battle are 4500 XP, 700 Gold, 2x Dragonfire Catalyst, some Strength, and a weapon. However, note that these rewards are only earned after a cutscene plays.
