Although the Dreaming General itself can deal significant damage, players that can heal themselves and counter oncoming strikes should be acceptable. The true concept is the Tap Root, a creature capable of wrapping itself around a character and immobilizing them totally.

When the Tap Root attacks, it will put two roots downwards at random characters. If a character reaches "three stacks of roots," they will become entirely entombed, incapable to strike or move.

One of the finest techniques is to strike the Tap Root twice throughout each turn, ensuring that characters never find themselves in danger of being invaded by the creeping vines. It may take a little longer to finish the fight with the boss personally, but it's a far safer method.

In Darkest Dungeon 2, Blights and Burns perform well on this enemy and are recommended for quickly reducing its large health bar. Trinkets that deal extra damage, particularly melee damage, might speed up the combat. Dreaming General has a high health pool. Therefore, weaker teams may take a while to knock him down.

Characters with range can assist in stopping the Tap Root from getting out of control because melee characters will be unable to hit it. That being said, most characters have at least one ranged choice. It's always prudent to bring Paracelsus to boss bouts because their capacity to heal and provide stress resistance is unsurpassed.

Because of the Dreaming General's massive HP, one should stack up on healing resources and bring characters who can heal themselves. Most players believe the Dreaming General to be a challenging boss to beat if they understand the mechanics. While focusing on the vines should always be a priority, players should not fret about the status effects.
