Wuthering Waves: How to defeat the Hedgepuff
Enemy Location
As mentioned above, Hedgepuff is a Unique Tacet Discord that gets unlocked by getting your Data Hub to level 1. Once your Data Hub has reached the required level, you can head to the designated location and fight the enemy.
Teleport to the Resonance Beacon in the TD Observatory region in the Black Shores Archipelago and head north. You will find the enemy near the shore by a tall tower. You can also easily locate this enemy by tracking it from the Data Hub page.
Enemy Overview
The Hedgepuff is a modified variation of the common-class enemy, Gulpuff. Much like the Gulpuff, it too has higher resistance to the Glacio element. It is a straightforward enemy with very few attacks, but at the same time, these attacks deal a ton of damage and can easily chip away your character's HP.
The enemy has two attack variations: it will either throw giant bubbles at you to trap you, or it will slam its body on the ground to deal a massive amount of damage. Dodging at the right time to avoid both of these attacks is crucial if you want to have a fighting chance against this foe.
Team Recommendations
As mentioned previously, the Hedgepuff has increased resistance to the Glacio element, so it would be advised that you do not use a Glacio Main or Sub-DPS unit like Sanhua. Characters with higher mobility that can swiftly dodge the enemy's bubbles and bodyslams will allow you to have an easier time during the fight. You can find some team recommendations below:
- Shorekeeper, Mortefi, Changli
- Shorekeeper, Yinlin, Xiangli Yao
- Verina, Zhezhi, Jinhsi
If you do not have the Shorekeeper or Verina, Baizhi can be a viable replacement as well. Apart from that, any non-Glacio main DPS like Calcharo, Jiyan, and Encore will work well against this enemy.
Additional Tips and Strategies
Even though it is a formidable opponent, it is not impossible to defeat this enemy. Here are some tips and strategies that you can follow to have an easier time against the Hedgepuff:
- Make sure that your team is well-balanced, with a main DPS capable of dealing the majority of the damage on the field, a sub-DPS, and a support who can buff and/or heal your characters.
- Ensure that every Resonator on your team, particularly your main DPS, has the best weapon and Echoes equipped that are available in your arsenal.
- Practicing patience is crucial against this enemy. Understanding its attack patterns and knowing when it will attack to dodge at the right time will allow you to survive for longer and defeat the enemy.
- Keep in mind that you can use food buffs during the fight that will boost your team's damage output.
Rewards for defeating the Hedgepuff
Defeating the Hedgepuff is one of the objectives that must be completed in the Where Stars Slumber event. Apart from that, defeating this enemy will unlock the "Giant Balloon" achievement, and defeating it for the first time will reward you with a Standard, Advanced, and Premium Supply Chest.
