Best Party combination for facing Homo Pento in Metaphor ReFantazio

Fire-based skills are the core of an effective team during this fight. That’s why the optimal team setup against Homo Pento includes:

  1. Protagonist as a Wizard
  2. Hulkenberg as another Wizard
  3. Junah as a Masked Dancer
  4. Eupha as a Summoner (default member)

The Wizard Archetype is advantageous here since it grants access to Botra, a powerful Fire skill that exploits Homo Pento's Fire weakness. Hulkenberg, as a second Wizard, can repeatedly deal fire damage alongside the protagonist, melting its health bar every turn. The Masked Dancer role for Junah is essential, as she starts with Infernal Vortex and learns Crimson Flame at Level 20. Both can deal some good damage to Homo Pento.

Eupha, with the Summoner Archetype, can be very effective as a support that provides sustain. Her skill, Summon Noctiluca, is very effective in this fight as it heals status ailments and recovers some HP. She can also clear the floor with her Summon Dragon God synthesis skill that deals severe Fire magic damage to all enemies while removing buffs.

Spam Fire Attacks Consistently

The main objective of this fight is to repeatedly target Homo Pento with Fire attacks. Equip your Wizards with Botra and focus on casting it consistently, while the Masked Dancer can split between Crimson Flame and Infernal Vortex. The Summoner’s Summon Dragon God should be your primary synthesis skill, as it inflicts significant Fire damage and removes buffs, which can be especially useful when Homo Pento raises its defenses.

Handle the Summon Knight Skeleton:

Once Homo Pento uses Soul Cry, it will gain two extra turns and call a Summon Knight Skeleton, which buffs Homo Pento’s attack and defense. The Skeleton is vulnerable to Light-based attacks. Consider using the Inheritance system to teach Light skills to your Wizards or Masked Dancer if possible.

Debuff Homo Pento

Since the Summon Knight Skeleton will provide buffs, it’s crucial to have Dekaja (equipped via Faker’s Mask) on the Masked Dancer to quickly remove any boosts to Homo Pento’s attack or defense.

Avoid Wind Skills

Homo Pento can reflect Wind-based attacks, so avoid using any skills that fall under this element. In particular, ensure that your Summoner does not use Summon Eagle Lion, as it could reflect on your party and cause significant self-inflicted damage.

Heal and Cure Status Ailments

Homo Pento's Curse Chant attack can inflict Hex, a debilitating status condition. Use Summon Noctiluca with Eupha to cure this ailment and provide supplementary HP recovery.
