How to defeat Jin in Metaphor ReFantazio

Jin in Metaphor ReFantazio is one of the many candidates you will meet in your journey. During the seventh episode of Neuras’s follower story, you will be tasked with hunting down the thief who stole the various artifacts you recovered for him. This chase will lead you to discover that Jin is behind the robbery and you must retrieve what he stole.

You will have likely encountered Jin during your journey and know that he is an opportunist who will switch allegiance if it benefits him. This time, he has allied with Louis and you must stop him if you want to progress Neuras’s follower rank.

Jin is quite weak and will rely on the two guards escorting him. During this battle, you must take down these guards. Here are a few key strategies that you can employ to defeat Jin in Metaphor ReFantazio.

Recommended Archetypes

• Mage/Wizard
• Persona Master
• Prince

The main archetypes you will need for this battle will be any from the Mage lineage. You will need Bot and Kand skills that deal Fire and Lightning damage respectively to deal with the two guards.

Persona Master allows you to inflict one-time weaknesses on enemies that can come in handy to defeat Jin. You can also equip a Healer/Cleric mask and save yourself the effort of bringing in a healer.

Prince comes with the Hero’s Cry Spell that adds four turns. This will be useful in setting up your party in case you suffer any disadvantage.

Recommended equipment and items

Make sure to buy items that deal fire and lightning damage before you chase him with your gauntlet runner. You can buy them from the Gloamhall in Sunshade Row in Grand Trad. This battle is not particularly hard so you don’t have to carry many healing items.

Take out the two guards.

Your first job will be to target the two guards besides Jin. The Persona Master Archetype has a strong AoE Fire spell that you can use. The rightmost guard is vulnerable to fire, giving you a press turn while the others will take damage.

Target the Guard on the left with Lightning Spells or items. You can use Prince’s Hero’s Cry spell to gain extra turns and continue your onslaught.

Keep in mind that Jin can heal the entire enemy team, so it is recommended that you try to gain as many press turn advantages as possible.

Defeating Jin

Use Persona Master’s abilities to inflict him with various weaknesses and keep targeting his weaknesses. This will allow you to stack turns and if you do this properly, you can take out Jin in Metaphor ReFantazio within a few turns.
