Lingxuzi is one of those bosses in Black Myth Wukong that can be challenging or easy depending on your Spell loadout. While the boss isn't particularly challenging, compared to the ones that are present in the later stages of the first chapter, it certainly can end up being an exercise in frustration, especially if you're trying to rush the game and skip optional encounters.
As a beast-type enemy, Lingxuzi has a very specific weakness. You will be able to easily defeat the boss without any hassle if you exploit this. However, in order to "exploit" said weakness, you will need to explore the opening section of the chapter thoroughly and also defeat an optional boss who drops a Transformation.
Here's a comprehensive guide on how to easily defeat Lingxuzi in Black Myth Wukong.

Tips to easily defeat Lingzuxi in Black Myth Wukong
Before you fight Lingzuxi, I highly recommend defeating two optional bosses - Guangzhi and Wandering Wight. While you won't be able to use Wandering Wight's Spirit just yet, you will be able to use the Will and XP dropped from the boss to upgrade the Destined One and craft a new armor set for him. This will boost his defensive attributes.
Defeating Guangzhi rewards you with the Red Tides Transformation, which transforms you into, well, Guangzhi with his ability to inflict Burn status on enemies. Lingzuxi being a beast-type enemy, is incredibly susceptible to Burn damage, and once inflicted with the status, takes additional damage from regular attacks.
Once you make sure you're meeting the prerequisites for the boss fight, you can head into the arena, and completely decimate it, with just Immobilize and Red Tides. Here are some tips that should help you against Lingzuxi in Black Myth Wukong:
- Immobilize and Red Tides are going to be the most important tools to use against this boss, but make sure not to spam them. Ideally, you would want to save both to use in the latter half of the battle.
- However, if you think you're not dealing enough damage to the boss, use Red Tides Transformation as soon as you enter the arena, and use the charged heavy attack.
- Since, for the first half, the boss usually stays on the battlefield, it's quite easy to inflict Burn on it.
- Once you make sure that the boss is inflicted with Burn status, de-transform and use regular attacks and varied combos. The best combo that I found to be extremely helpful against this boss is the double light attack and a heavy attack combo.
- Make sure you're only using Immobilize when the boss is on the ground.
- However, if you have the Pillar or the Thrust Stances unlocked, you can also attack the boss mid-air, albeit only with a charged heavy attack.
Lingzuxi isn't too challenging once you know its weaknesses and have access to Red Tides Transformation. Once you defeat Lingxuzi, you will be able to proceed to the latter half, as well as the final boss fight of the first chapter of Black Myth Wukong.
