Dodge and parry attacks as and when necessary
Dodging and parrying attacks is the core of Stellar Blade’s combat loop, and the fight against Raven in Stellar Blade is no exception. Raven can use a chain of combos, which will require multiple parries to defend against.
Parrying is almost always better than blocking, as it has a chance to stagger the enemy and leave them vulnerable for a Retribution, which can take out a large chunk of their HP. On the other hand, unblockable attacks (as indicated by a yellow flash) cannot be parried and are meant to be dodged.
Additionally, it is recommended to wear out Raven’s shield first before unleashing a barrage of Beta and Burst skills. Using gear that enhances these skills is also recommended, as is the use of Tachy Mode, which negates damage and allows for high DPS skills, but requires time to recharge and is temporary. This is best reserved for when you are at low HP.
Use Shock Grenades and Beta Skills to interrupt Raven’s attacks
Another way to “cheat” through the battle against Raven in Stellar Blade is to use Beta Skills to “interrupt” her combos. Once the final attack of the Beta skill connects, it will momentarily stagger the enemy, leaving them vulnerable to more attacks - or provide you enough time to quickly pop a Potion and heal yourself.
Investing in the Beta Skill Tree is highly recommended.
An alternative method to stagger is by using a specific consumable - the Shock Grenades. Throw it once within range to topple her over. This item can be bought at the Item Shops within a camp, at a limited capacity.
Avoid being caught by her unblockable attacks
After losing around half of her health, Raven will become more aggressive in her attacks, opting to use new moves and combos. Raven can use several unblockable attacks, which include the following:
- A series of sword waves sent by slashing through the air. Dodge these attacks.
- Teleporting to your location and unleashing a flurry of slashes to deal a massive amount of damage. This attack will be followed by another unblockable move, which must also be dodged.
- Raven can also counter moves, grabbing EVE and slamming her into the ground.
Defeating Raven in Stellar Blade requires patience, and you may be forced to retry several times. You can also choose to lower the in-game difficulty if required.
