Black Myth Wukong features a secret Yaoguai King boss called Red Loong in Chapter 1: Black Cloud, Red Fire. Defeating him rewards you with several helpful items and materials in the game. However, you’ll first need to progress to Chapter 2 and acquire a unique Key Item to trigger this encounter.
Let us take a look at how you can defeat Red Loong in Black Myth Wukong.
Steps to defeat Red Loong in Black Myth Wukong
Step 1: Acquire the Loong Scales
The Loong Scales are a Key Item needed to defeat Red Loong in Black Myth Wukong. You can acquire this item while progressing through Chapter 2, where you encounter the boss duo - King Of the Flowing Sands and Second Prince of Flowing Sands. After defeating them, make your way to the “Valley of Despair” Keeper's Shrine and keep following the path until you reach a cave.

Within this cave, you will find the King's other son, called The First Rat Prince or the First Prince of Flowing Sands. You'll also notice a red-colored rounded wall, which must be broken to unlock a secret passage. This leads to the Loong Scales, which are hidden away in a chest.
One way to do this is to have the First Rat Prince strike the wall, resulting in it breaking and revealing the secret path. However, if the boss is already defeated, the Wandering Wight Spirit Skill can be used to break open the wall. If that too is out of the question, an Azure Dust spell should do the trick.
Step 2: Access the Red Loong boss location
Once the Loong Scales have been acquired, it is time to make your way to the “Outside The Forest” Keeper's Shrine.
Go northwest from the shrine to reach a waterfall, where a few statues are waiting to greet you. With the Loong Scales in your inventory, you should hear a dialogue at this point. This means that you're going in the right direction.
A prompt will soon pop up, allowing you to interact with the waterfall. Upon interacting, it will cease to exist, and a small crevice will appear. Proceeding further will activate a cutscene and start the Red Loong boss fight.
How to defeat Red Loong in Black Myth Wukong
There's a reason why unlocking this secret boss fight involves so many steps. Red Loong is one of the toughest enemies in Black Myth Wukong. This formidable foe unleashes electric attacks, so having plenty of Shock-Quelling Powder is essential for healing and survival.
Red Loong also employs a variety of aggressive moves, including claw swipes, tail strikes, and airborne lunges. Spells like Wandering Wight can be beneficial to tackle this boss. However, experimenting with different attack combinations and spells may also improve your chances of victory.
The key is to focus on targeting Red Loong's back. There are several pots on his back, which, when hit, reward you with bonus damage dealt to the boss.
Use heavy attacks against Red Loong, as they can stun him for prolonged periods, during which you can inflict damage. An Azure Dust Transformation spell and an Immobilize spell can also help this cause.
