Sea Horror Homo Sabara is a terrifying Metaphor ReFantazio boss. Rising out of the sea with gross teeth, a crown of thorns, multiple ears, and tentacles, it’s certainly a boss that will give some players nightmare fuel. It’s also dangerous and powerful if you aren’t ready for its attacks. You could have a variety of parties and class setups at this point too, so there’s no telling what sorts of combos you could bring to the table.
By this point in the game, Junah, the Songstress, will have joined the party, and she was in my lineup for this boss. As your setup and party will no doubt vary, so will your strategies. This is how we defeated Sea Horror Homo Sabara in Metaphor ReFantazio.

Tips for defeating Sea Horror Homo Sabara in Metaphor ReFantazio
Our party for Sea Horror Homo Sabara in Metaphor ReFantazio was Hero (Cleric), Junah (Masked Dancer), Strohl (Wizard), and Heismay (Assassin). This is also the fight where you learn you can swap characters in and out of battle, so if you have someone in that won’t be helpful, consider swapping them out.
One thing Sea Horror Homo Sabara is weak to in Metaphor ReFantazio is Electricity. With Wizard/Masked Dancer, we were able to cast Kandeon via Synthesis. This deals Heavy Electric damage to one target, making it the perfect team-up move for this battle.
This boss has some devastating attacks, like Random Attack, where it sends all of its tentacles out to repeatedly hit your whole party. In my case, one party member was weak to it, so it got more attacks out, like Torrential Breath, which just hits one party member with a water attack.
It also has a single-target Heavy Slam attack, which can hit characters weak to it for a significant chunk of damage. Perhaps its most annoying attack is Ink Spew, which can trigger the Malady debuff on all party members. This reduces all stats and nullifies recovery magic/items. If you brought items like Ailment Absolution, now’s a great time to use them.
If you want to have this boss hitting you for quite so much on the Random Attack, take the time to slaughter the various tentacles it has. We used Gold Attack from the Merchant tree, due to its high chance of landing a critical hit, and of course, Gakandera, which does Medium Electric to all enemies.
Other party members used their strongest single-target attacks to whittle the tentacles down, one-by-one. When you kill all of its tentacles, the boss will weaken, making Sea Horror Homo Sabara easier to kill in Metaphor ReFantazio.
Though the boss is weakened, it still has most of its more annoying attacks, like Ink Spew. Just be careful, clear Malady anytime it's on a party member, and smash it with your strongest Electric attacks/Gold Attack if you’re running it. Once you’ve succeeded, you can progress towards the next task in the race to crown a new king.
