The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is chock-full of some really unique and fun boss fights that can also be quite challenging, especially during this title's early-game sections. While it sees most enemies make a return from the previous title, The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, some are new. This includes the massive Battle Talus.

This entity, on a cursory glance, looks extremely similar to the Stone Talus monsters from the previous game — which are also in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. However, on close inspection, you will find a plethora of differences between the two enemy types. The Battle Talus is significantly bigger than the regular Stone Talus.

The former carries more than one Bokoblin on its back, which can become a problem, as they will attack you whenever you try to get on top of this boss. Fortunately, the Battle Talus shares a similar moveset as the Stone Talus and also has the same weakpoints as its smaller-sized cousin.

Here's a comprehensive guide on how to easily defeat this stone monster in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

Defeating Battle Talus and its accompanying Bokoblins in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

The Battle Talus in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom has some key differences compared to the Stone Talus. Instead of being a bipedal monster like, it walks on all four legs. This is necessary to support its flat upper body. This enemy is also somewhat reminiscent of the "Roaming Mausoleum" in FromSoftware's Elden Ring.

The Battle Talus is usually accompanied by four or five Bokoblins, who set up camp on top of this stone monster. Before you engage with this boss, dealing with its companions is recommended to make the battle against that stone giant a little easier. The best way to dispatch the Bokoblins is to snipe them with your bow and a couple of explosive arrows.

Once you deal with the ones on top of the Battle Talus, it's only you and the stone monster. The basic structure of this boss fight is identical to that of the Stone Talus one. To deal damage to the Battle Talus, you will have to scale its body and attack the black crystal on top of this entity's head.

You can scale the Battle Talus by climbing up its legs. Alternatively, you can simply use Link's Ascend ability to get to the top without having to waste stamina. Once you are atop the Battle Talus, look for the black-colored crystal and attack it a few times before this boss shakes you off. Rinse and repeat this process a couple of times, and the foe will go down without any hassle.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is now available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
