Tips to beat the Gleeok in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is not the first title to feature the Gleeok, as the three-headed monster's first appearance was in the original The Legend of Zelda title on the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System). However, with the recent addition of the monster, the Gleeok has some surprises that will keep even hardcore veterans of the series on their toes.

There are several variants of Gleeok in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom found throughout the land of Hyrule. While they all share a common moveset, they differ in the type of elemental affinity that each of them harness. Every Gleeok can shoot elemental projectiles at its target, dealing massive amounts of damage, and can only be dodged, not parried.

Apart from the elemental projectiles, the Gleeok also has a tail swipe and slam attack, which is unblockable and can only be avoided by dodging. It should also be mentioned that your melee weapons are practically useless against this boss, as it rarely gets within melee range.

The only weapon that will be useful against the Gleeok is the bow (we recommend using the Lynel Bow due to its raw DPS and durability).

The Gleeok's body takes zero damage from attacks, and the only part where you can attack and deal damage is its eyes. Each eye has its own small health bar, which you must deplete to stun the monster and drop it to the ground before dealing a critical hit. It is also necessary to use the right element to deal bonus damage.

For the Flame Gleeok, use frost or thunder arrows, and for the Frost Gleeok, use flame or thunder arrows. When dealing with the Thunder Gleeok, use flame and frost arrows. You can also use exploding arrows, but it is better to stick to elemental arrows for the most part.

You can stock up on elemental arrows at the Kara Kara Bazaar in Gerudo Town. Elemental arrows can also be obtained by completing certain side quests or raiding Bokoblin camps.

Once you bring the Gleeok down to the ground after damaging its eyes, equip your most powerful (high DPS) melee weapon and start hitting the monster's head to whittle its health bar. Repeat the process of stunning the Gleeok and dealing damage to it while it is on the ground twice or thrice to defeat it.
