Community Actions in Frostpunk 2 are an integral part of the game's core mechanics. With New London booming with different Ideologies, some are bound to clash. It's no surprise that conflicts of interest will arise and stoke the flames of an uprising, despite the cold chilling people to their bones. In such situations, you can use Community Actions in Frostpunk 2 to manipulate or persuade the good folk of New London to change their minds.

It is a given that Community Actions in Frostpunk 2 will affect Factions and Communities in the game. You will have to choose how and when to execute/enact them to make the most of a situation, so keep in mind the upsides and downsides that some of these actions have. So long as you keep most of your population happy, things should turn out fine for you.

What are Community Actions in Frostpunk 2?

Community Actions allow you, the player, to sway Communities and Factions in your favor, but at a cost. For instance, you can get more Heatstamps by using the Raise Funds action, but citizens will not look kindly at you. For this reason, you need to have a good relationship with at least two Factions.

How to use Community Actions in Frostpunk 2?

To execute/enact these actions, you will first need to click the icon for Community/Faction, located on the lower central bar. Once there, you can see what options are available to you and enact them. Some groups have specific actions, but in general, they all boil down to five basic principles, which are:

  • Trust: You can Increase your Trust with a group by granting them a favor. This can be done by passing a certain Law or researching something that is of interest to them.
  • Favours: Raise Funds from groups at the cost of Trust (don't use this option too often.)
  • Fervor: Deradicalize groups by lowering their Fervor at the cost of Trust.
  • Council: Promote or Condemn groups. This will either increase or decrease their Trust in you.
  • Special: Unique actions that are related to a group's special capacities/capabilities.

When to use Community Actions in Frostpunk 2?

Now that you know the different types of actions you can enact and how to use them, the question of when should you use them arises. This largely depends on how you deal with your given situation. Since certain actions have pros and cons, you will have to decide when best to use them.

Your ultimate goal is to maintain a delicate balance between Factions/Communities and ensure communal harmony. So, don't let things get out of hand, unless you want to end up having to deal with Rallies and Protests in Frostpunk 2.
