Finding the Katana starts with locating the right cave. Rather than focusing on a specific starting point after the plane crash, focus on the cave's position, which is between the giant sinkhole and the main cannibal village on the map. The cave entrance is in an open area with large rocks and a nearby river, so it’s easy to spot once you’re in the right area.

Once you reach the cave entrance, the path to the Katana is surprisingly simple. You need not worry about facing off against cannibals or mutants along the way. To start, you must take the rope into the cave and follow the path. Along the way, you will see drawings and a toy on the walls, signaling that you're on the right track.

After that, climb up another rope, but this time, it’s important to crouch as you move forward. To avoid encountering cannibals and an Armsey on the right side, taking the left path is the safest route. Continue along this path, and you will see a wooden plank, passing lamps, and other cave markers — this will lead to the room containing the Katana.

At the end of the cave, you will come across a room filled with dead bodies, money, and the Katana sticking out of one of the bodies’ necks. It’s an easy find, requiring no combat, and it’s just sitting there waiting to be claimed in the game.
