Coffee Beans in Stardew Valley are plantable seeds that can be grown in the Spring or Summer seasons. However, procuring them can be a challenge. There is only a 1% chance to obtain this item as a monster drop and only one merchant seldom sells them in the entire game. That said, Coffee Beans are a great source of income that can help you quickly advance in the game.
This guide will go over both methods of obtaining Coffee Beans, how to grow them, and how to make money by selling Coffee in Stardew Valley.

The Traveling Merchant is a vendor that visits Cindersap Forest every Friday and Sunday. The merchant’s stock is divided between ten Standard items and one Special item. Coffee Beans have a 1.26% chance of appearing as a Standard item for a price between 100g to 1,000g or as a Special item for a price of 2,500g.
This method is easy for new players as there is no need to dive into the deeper floors of the Mines looking for monsters who drop Coffee Beans. However, it can be unreliable as the stock of Traveling Merchant is unpredictable.
2) Dust Sprites
Dust Sprites are small spherical-shaped monsters that you can encounter between Floors 41 and 79 of the Mines. They have a 1% chance to drop a Coffee Bean. The chance isn’t very high but since they are often found in large groups, you can get Coffee Beans after farming Dust Sprites for a while.
To increase your chances of encountering Dust Sprites, you can equip an item called Monster Musk. This will double your chances of monster encounters for ten minutes. Moreover, you can also equip the Burglar’s Ring to maximize your chance of obtaining loot dropped by each of them.
How to grow Coffee Beans in Stardew Valley
Coffee beans are seeds, meaning you only need to plant them once to get more of them. They can be planted during the Spring and Summer seasons and take ten days to fully mature. Once they've matured, you can harvest Coffee Beans every two days without replanting the crop. If you have unlocked the greenhouse, you can grow Coffee Beans throughout the year regardless of the season requirement.
How to make and sell Coffee in Stardew Valley
You will need an Artisan Equipment called Keg to convert Coffee Beans into Coffee. If you don’t have the item already, you can acquire the recipe to craft one by reaching Farming Level 8 or by completing the Artisan bundle in the Community Center.
To make Coffee, simply put five Coffee Beans of the same quality (normal, silver, or gold) in a Keg. It will take two in-game hours for Coffee Beans to turn into Coffee.
You should invest in several Kegs to produce Coffee. Each cup can be sold for 150g which can serve as an easy and robust source of income in the early game.
Additionally, you can combine a cup of Coffee and a Cloth to produce a Pour-Over Shirt or even gift Coffee to your Stardew Valley love interest to raise your friendship level.
