Energy Core is an EXP material in Wuthering Waves associated with weapons. Much like any other material, each Energy Core can come in different tiers, including green, blue, purple, or gold. The following will help you break down the amount of Energy Core obtained from each source:

• Simulation Training: Requires 40 Waveplate with purple-tier Energy Core as the maximum reward tier from Phase 3 SOL3. Golden-tier Energy Core can be acquired from Phase 4 for the first time, until Phase 8.
• Quests: Any character quest or side quest can drop 4-5 Energy Cores, with their rarities being dependent on the quest's duration. Character quests usually drop 5 purple-tier Energy Cores, while side quests usually have blue-tier Energy Cores.
• Battle Pass Pioneer Podcast: The free path can drop 24 Energy Cores, whereas, the premium path can drop 91 Energy Cores, including 3 golden-tier Energy Cores.
• Oscillated Coral shop: With each shop reset, players can get 80 purple-tier Energy Cores in exchange for "Oscillated Coral," a free Gacha currency available with every pull.
• Relic Merchant: There are 10 levels of Relic Merchant which can be achieved by turning in Resonance Caskets. Throughout the 10 levels, players can get 22 Energy Cores, all being purple-tier.
• Synthesizer: Players can synthesize countless Energy Cores with the help of Fluorite.
• Pioneer Level: Each level in the Pioneer association grants 2 Premium Energy Cores, the highest tier of the material. They can be redeemed from Maqi in Jinzou.
• Souvenir Shop: The Souvenir Shop at Jinzou grants 30 purple-tier Energy Cores in exchange for Wood-textured Shard.
