How to get Evolution Shards in Clash Royale?

Evolution Shards in Clash Royale are used to unlock the evolutions of troops, which are comparatively stronger and have more abilities than regular versions. Additionally, evolved troops and their normal counterparts require the same amount of elixir. To use an evolution, we need to have enough shards, place the card at the evolution slot of the deck, and complete a set number of cycles.

However, these shards are not easy to find. There are limited ways to acquire them, making evolutions hard to unlock. Moreover, we have to collect six shards of a specific card to evolve it. With that said, this article will list how players can get evolution shards in Clash Royale.

How players can get Evolution Shards in Clash Royale

As of July 2024, there are six ways to acquire evolution shards in Clash Royale. Here they are:

1) Shop Offers

Players can purchase their desired evolution shard from the Shop Offers. Getting Shards from the shop is the fastest way to acquire them, but they require real money.

2) Season Shop

The season shop refreshes every season with new evolution shards. There is usually only one variety of evolution shards present in the shop, and the price also rises with each consecutive purchase. The first shard costs 5000 season tokens, the second costs 10000 tokens, and the third one costs 15,000 tokens. Only three shards can be purchased per season.

3) Special Challenges

Some special challenges reward a set amount of evolution shards. The possibility of earning evolution shards increases with the challenge's difficulty and if the challenge specifically features evolution shards as part of the reward pool.

4) Pass Royale

The diamond tier of the Pass Royale contains six evolution shards of a featured troop, which is enough to unlock the evolution. The diamond and free versions do not contain shards as of July 2024.

5) Leveling up the account

After getting the King to level 50, every alternative level-up (54, 56, etc.) rewards one random evolution shard.

6) Wild Shards

Wild Shards can be transformed into any evolution shard. These can be acquired from the shop offers, special challenges, and Epic Lucky Drops (having a 10% drop chance). Additionally, they are available in the season shop for 6000 tokens, once per season.
