Horse-riding has been a key aspect of The Legend of Zelda games since 1998's Ocarina of Time. As such, this staple feature returns in the latest entry as well. As a successor to Breath of the Wild, many of its features and additions also make it in. This includes Ganon's horse, the most unique wild horse in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. This striking behemoth is recognizable by its bright orange mane and huge stature.

However, finding it can be a tedious endeavor, given how vast the open world of Hyrule is. This guide deals with tracking down the horse and taming it.

This majestic beauty can be found on Hateno Beach in East Necluda. The approximate coordinates are 4158, -2451, 0004. This horse can often be seen as part of a herd and stands out easily due to its towering size, dark body, and bright orange mane.

However, obtaining it can be a tad more challenging than usual. For one, Ganon's horse has the highest Strength value amongst its kind in the game. As such, mounting and soothing it can be problematic, especially early on.

Mounting horses in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is done by crouching and slowly approaching the beast. Stealth can further be enhanced using elixirs or gear that boosts the stat. Once near, press the mount button to get atop it. In this equine's case, Link should preferably have two whole stamina wheels to quell the beast. Due to low stamina during early hours, this can be problematic.

However, the issue can be mitigated by having consumables on hand. Certain cooked foods can restore the stamina wheel, and so can some potions. Once Ganon's horse becomes stable enough, press the L button to soothe it. This is so the horse becomes easy to maneuver. The only step left is to register the horse at one of the stables in Hyrule. This way, it will be permanently added to your roster.

Unfortunately, the closest stable, like the Dueling Peaks one, is pretty far away. It is located at 1750, -1921, 0010 on the map. Ganon's horse is not the fastest one in the realm either, so be wary of enemies encountered on the way, as they can spook it. Reach the stable safe and sound and talk to the owner to register it. From there onwards, players can visit any stable around Hyrule to recall the horse.

An alternate way of obtaining Ganon's horse is if players already have one in The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. Having save data from that game on your Nintendo Switch brings over all registered horses to the stables around Hyrule.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom was released on May 12, 2023. It is available on Nintendo Switch exclusively.
