The Secret Source Automaton Configuration Device is located in an underground cavern in Ameyalco Waters. To get there, teleport to the waypoint south of Teticpac Peak and head south to find a large hole in the ground below the wooden bridge. Jump down and keep moving until you see the boss.

To challenge the Secret Source Automaton Configuration Device boss and get the achievement, you must bring Kachina or Xilonen. This is because, as of version 5.1, only these two characters can climb on Solid Phlogiston.

Luckily, Kachina is a free unit that can be obtained during the Natlan Archon Quest, so any player who has done it should have her. Her character level also does not matter since you only need her to climb the Solid Phlogiston and not fight with her.

At any rate, once you have started the Secret Source Automaton Configuration Device boss challenge, wait for it to summon the large orange rock crystals in the center of the arena.

Next, switch to Kachina or Xilonen and swiftly climb any pillar and destroy the Accretion Mechanism. Then, climb the other rock crystal and do the same.
