How to reach Olympus in Hades 2
Players who have been enjoying the game thus far will know that Hades 2 offers two routes: one to the Underworld and the other to the Surface. Logically, protagonist Melinoe needs to take the latter route to reach the abode of the gods. This means warding off the barrier that leads to the surface, in case you have not done so already.
This is achieved by collecting the required reagents for the "Permutation of Witching Wards" Incantation and using them at the Cauldron in the Crossing Roads hub area. You will need the following to remove the ward blocking the path to the surface: Cinder (x1), Molly (x3), and Shadow (x1).
The latter is another reagent that needs to be crafted under the Alchemy tab of the Cauldron using Ashes (x30), Psyche (x30), and Fate Fabric (x3), all of which are fairly easy to acquire via normal exploration of the underworld areas. Once the Surface has been unlocked, however, there is another challenge before you can make your way to Olympus.
Not long after reaching the surface, Melinoe's life begins leeching due to her being a daughter of Hades. As such, another Incantation is in order: Unravelling A Fateful Bond. It requires Nightshade (x2), Moss (x2), Lotus (x2), and Thalamus (x2).
Both Nightshade and Lotus are found in the underworld: in the Erebus and Oceanus regions, respectively. Moss, meanwhile, is found around the area after stepping onto the surface, while Thalamus grows from Origin Seeds obtained in the domain reigned over by Chaos. Wrapping up the incantation will allow Melinoe to freely explore the surface.
With that done, you must first get past the City of Ephyra and Rift of Thessaly and beat their respective bosses to reach Mount Olympus. Before this update, the surface run ended at the second region, but now you can get past it to explore Olympus and see what new challenges are in store, including a thrilling boss fight against a brand-new Titan.
Hades 2 is available in early access on PC.
