How to get the secret ending in Dragon Age The Veilguard

Dragon Age The Veilguard's campaign has three endings for players to choose from: the good or "true" ending, the bad ending, and a hidden secret ending. The secret ending adds a cutscene to the end of the final fight, which further develops the game's lore and even includes references to events from previous games.

To unlock this secret ending, you must fulfil certain criteria. Below are the steps to achieve the secret ending.

Achieving the secret ending in Dragon Age The Veilguard

You must acquire the following items to unlock the secret cutscene at the end of the game:

• Mythal's Essence
• Finding the three mysterious circles hidden across the map of Thedas.

Mythal's Essence can be unlocked by choosing to engage in peaceful conversation with Mythal at the end of the Regrets of the Dead Wolf quest as opposed to engaging in combat with her. You can refer to our guide to choose the correct answers and obtain the Essence. The locations of the three Mysterious Circles are as follows:

1. The first mysterious circle can be found in the Forest Mire area within the Arlathan Forest. Arrange all the lasers around the area in such a way that their beams hit the crystal in the centre of the island at the same time. Once the final laser hits the crystal, a bridge will appear, creating a pathway. Defeat the Guardian of Secrets boss at the end of the bridge and pick up the first circle.
2. The second mysterious circle is found in Necropolis Halls and requires the quests Restless Spirits and Pinnacle of its Kind to have been completed. Following this, complete the battle with the Formless One, and head towards the left side of the area where it was fought. The second circle will be found in a room.
3. The third and final mysterious circle can be found in the Crossroads and is unlocked after completing the Heart of Corruption quest. Found towards the left side of the area where the Revenant Dragon was fought, a set of stairs leads to an area which can be mantled. The third circle can be found in this area.

Once the above steps have been completed, play the game and reach the final cutscene. Following this cutscene will be the secret ending, which references events from the game and harks back to events of previous games. You can refer our guide for a detailed view of this ending.
