Even though there are various locations where you can find a submachine gun in the game, if you want to get it as soon as possible to dominate the zombies, you should collect it from the Paradise Plaza, the first location where you spawn just after the prologue.

To obtain the submachine gun from the Paradise Plaza, exit the security room and try to get on top of the sheet laid over Shoekin's store, which can be located near the exit.

Once you leave the Security room, climb the staircase leading to the second floor of Paradise Plaza. Locate the blue sheet to your right and jump on it using the railing. Reach the end of this blue platform to get the submachine gun located right above Shoekin's store.
